Prof. Ana Altaras Dimitrijevic, Ph.D

Ana Altaras Dimitrijević, Ph.D., is a Full Professor at the Department of Psychology, University in Belgrade. Her teaching and research cover topics from educational and differential psychology, with a special focus on emotional intelligence (EI), meaningful cognitive assessment, and giftedness and gifted education. She has been the initiator of EI research in Serbia and is presently assigned as a National Coordinator within the International Society for Emotional Intelligence. She has also been using her expertise to support educational reforms and initiatives aimed at promoting differentiated instruction and competence-oriented learning. Dr. Dimitrijević is currently part of the project “PEERSolvers”, wherein she is investigating the role of EI in collaborative problem-solving and developing a training package to promote high school students’ EI skills and, ultimately, their capacities for teamwork.
